I'm having a problem with my amp I just installed. I keep blowing the fuse on the amp. I can hook up power and ground, but as soon as I put 12V to the control (remote) it blows the fuse. I don't have any speaker wire hooked up to it either. It's a pioneer GM-X522 300W. Anybody know what the problem could be?

hmmm..well try to start over again. first disconnect the neg batt terminal. ground the amp first. connect the power wire next. now the remote wire. finally reconnect the neg batt terminal and see if all is well.
even strands of stray wire can cause a short so check to see if any of the power or ground wires are touching...good luck

That blew the fuse as well.

make sure your radio is off when you are wiring it. try to wire everything first without the fuse in the power wire. Install the fuse for the power wire last, then turn on the radio on. hope this works.

you sure you have the remote wire?
sounds to me like you might have the wrong one if there is no shorts in your wire runs and connectors..

the remote wire on the stock GT is the grey one from connector A right? I put another amp in my car and it worked fine. I've got the amp at a local stereo shop now getting looked at.
