Hurting my engine????

[01 Spectra GT-S]

If I run my car pass 6000rpm, when my engine only warm up one click. (the temp gauge only went up 1 click)
I know it is not good for the engine and lift won't kick in, but will it do damage tho?

it's not good for the engine to rev high when it's not warmed up period.

I always keep the revs under 3k until it's warmed up to the midway point

ever heard of pouring warm water in a cold glass (or vice-a-versa). well essentially the glass will break or crack. if the conditions are extreme enough the temp on the inside causes the metal to expand as the outside contracts. its been known to happen, i dunno how often it does though. domestics are worse with this.
