Awesome ride buddy! The RX-7 is probably one *the* best Japanese super cars. One thing though, 32k original miles?

Make sure to do a lot of preventive maintanence. Such as get the radiator swapped out with a bigger one. Replace all of the vacuum hoses with silicon ones...etc.

I'm jealous, the RX7 is one of the most beautiful Japanese cars ever. It came out in the early '90s and it's still beautiful today. The only thing I don't like about the car is that not that many people will work on a rotary, if they do they will charge out the a$$. Another thing I don't like about it is the sh*tty mpg.

werent the auto RX-7's faster than the stick?

zooq
03-21-2002, 07:40 AM
no that only goes for supra's. Auto RX-7s are much slower and they shift about 1k rpm before red line

ToyoGT
03-21-2002, 08:01 AM
auto supras aren't faster than 6-speeds from the factory. maybe i don't quite understand that you wrote....

with high stalls, yes, they would be faster up until you get a 2-step launch for the 6speed which essentially does the same thing off the line--builds boost.

good choice on the FD. very beautiful car :)

how much did you spend? I've seen a lot of nice RX7s going for under $15k... what about you?

...just wondering...

zooq

i paid 20k for it. i know that it's too high but the car still smells new and the motor has only 32k miles.

20k is alot for a used RX-7. You can find alot of them for $9,000-$12,000 with higher miles. A Mazda remanufactured engine cost only $3500 with all parts replaced. A complete tranny overhaul cost $1275. Add that to $10,000 and u have a complete almost new tranny and engine for $15,000.

Congratulations on getting the best car ever made. Hahaha, I can't help it since I also have an RX-7 Twin Turbo. :D I guess I'll see your ass over the RX-7 Forum now. Also, that is a pretty good price you paid for your RX-7.

do you have any mods on your 7?
i have an Apex exhaust and a pettit racing computer (got it used for 400 ).this computer was programed to run with a DP, IC, EX, and an intake it also makes 15 psi on the primary turbo. a friend of mine made about 300whp with that set up. that should put me in the 12s i hope

Don't run more than 13psi on your RX-7 without upgrading the fuel pump and injectors. The Pettit's ECU is a great ECU and that is an amazing price you paid for those parts. If they were new you would have easily paid over $1000. Also, here is a great website for you http://www.robrobinette.com/index.htm Here is a list of all my mods that are done to my RX-7.
