Ok so what is the dela with autoX on Sunday? Am i aloud to do it or do i need to be older (i'm 16) what do i need? helmet? Forms need to be signed?

How does it all work? Is it even worth it if i'm in a Auto? How long is the wait and are there alot of people there?

I will probably show up to it on sunday just to check it out... How can i find you all? Or will you be by your cars so you will be easy to spot?

How much does all this cost.

Oh and I got my wheels!!! The gun metal passion 5s still weren't in so i ordered some R/H Z5000's and i got them and put them on my car on Friday. The look great.

Sorry about all my questions just want to see what the Auto cross is all about. Thanks guys and gals. Hopefully my parents will let me drive there or else i will show up with my dad in either a Black Celica, BMW 528 silver, or a Porshe 911 red. So just be on the look out for me or somthing.
Thanks again

John

ok, here we go...you can race as long as you have a valid drivers license and your car passes tech inspection (real easy, as long as crap isnt falling off your car you'll be alright). auto's usually aren't quite as fast but i'd still reccomend trying it. jeremiah always races in his auto civic and he's been doing ok. i wouldn't worry about trying to get wonderful times at your first event anways, just go out and have some fun. you don't need a helmet or anything, they have ghetto loaner ones you can use when you get there. we will probably be by our cars part of the day so you should be able to find us. if you have a cell phone, you can call me at 404-234-6482 and try to track us down. im looking foward to seeing the wheels too. alright, i think that answers about everything, i'm bored so i dont mind answering a bunch of questions right now.

oh yea, it's $25 if your a member, $30 if not. i'd reccomend doing what we all did and join the "speed freaks" SCCA program (just like regular membership but for people 16-25 yrs. old, and $25 instead of $60 something). when you join that, you get to run your first event for free. you probably won't get over 50 or so mph and that will only be for a quick second on the straights. i never get out of 2nd gear and last time had to stay in 1st a lot even (so i was probably only going 20-35 mph). the SCCA courses are pretty wide (although the porsche club's are not), and even if you hit a cone it shouldn't do much damage, especially on a dark car. mark had a few black streaks after the school but as far as i know they came off when he washed it. but i've only tapped one cone at a real event, most likely you wont hit any unless you're really pushing your car.

Ha Ha thats pretty funny you putting me in about my Cones, yes I like to hit cones, although I only hit them during the school and didn't touch one during the heats, but I think in all I hit about 7 or 8 cones and I really hit some of them hard while learning the Apex and Salelum (SP) but nothing damaged my car at all. The black streaks came out after I washed my car,

On the topic of what you need because you are under 18 you will need a parent to sign a waiver for you. This is just a release stating that if you get hurt or something the SCCA is not responisble.
Cody do you remember if they take credit cards to pay the entry fee's or do I need to get some cash before Sunday

haha...yea, cant forget about the cone killing experience at the school. i had my share too, but none really showed up on the car. i forgot that you had to get a parent to sign if you were under 18 too. and i'm not sure if they'll take credit card or not, im thinking only cash but i could be wrong.

Do you guys know if we are supposed to take the same numbers again? I would assume they give you new ones each time but I thought I better check before i show up without them. If they stay the same I would like to get the magnetic numbers you were talking about Cody.

I second that, If we do keep the numbers how much could you do them for Cody?

for novice, they change them everytime. also, we now have to put 2 apexbenefits.biz stickers on our cars at all the evets. they'll give you some that you can tape on (thats what we did last time), but i came home and glued them to some magnetic material so that will make them a little easier. once we all move into different classes, we have to email kate at SCCA (i think thats who they told me) and request a # and see if its available. then i can get us the signs made. but i figure i'll run novice as long as i can cuz i will most likely suck in STS but oh well.

oh, and i need to check with my boss on prices, but i think it was around $40 for a pair of 12x12 signs. one other place i found online would do 3 individual cutout #s and the letters for your class, but it was around $70.
