hi everybody, just a few quick question that has been bugging me. I was racing my brother the other day he has a older corolla gts with the 4AG, anyway, I wasnt watching the tach too closely and bounced off the limiter at 7600. 2 questions about it, #1 is that the fuel cutoff or rev limiter, and #2 is it bad for your engine to hit that thing every now and then?
thanks

rev limiter = fuel cutoff... same thing, different name..
rev limiter - stops the revs
fuel cutoff - stops fuel so it stops the revs
its not THAT bad but dont do it very often.
it is there so you dont mess up your engine by over revving it.

it's the fuel cutoff
I hit my 8300 fuel cut off sometimes. Not a big deal. It's there to protect your engine
