Ok since i blew my tranny, i looked into my engine bay with one of my mechanic friends, he basically diagnosed this just from looking, i need a new transmission... a new clutch/flywheel... in blowing a tranny what are some things i will need to look at also, that could of been affected by me blowing my tranny? Any advice about other things i would need to check out so i can make sure it will be good to go once we install these things.

He looked at the engine bay and told you that your trans was gone.........BWAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH A.

Since you have mis-shifted I would bet that at a minimal some of your valves are bent. So I would do a compression test on the car and figure out what you need.

Take any and all mods off the car and take it up to a toyota dealer. You might get a new engine out of the deal.

How could he diagnose the transmission, flywheel, and clutch were gone just by looking at it?

I had to replace my transmission because my 1st gear synchro was gone and the pieces of that ended up in the 5th gear. It was also gone. New transmission plus labor was $2,800. It didn't do anything to my flywheel or clutch, so I couldn't tell you the cost on that.

I'm sorry, I really don't know much about transmissions. I assumed there was. I do have pics if you wanted to see what I was talking about.

Hell yeah! all that clicking at lightning fast speeds going thru the twisties can put a strain on such a delicate F1-inspired system.

Dunno about Celica's But most cars don't have a 1st and reverse Syncro.

im guessing thats the reason why its so hard to jam it into first in any gear.... kinda annoying.

im coming up to a stop in second, and revs are dropping, gotta turn, want to shove it to first.... aint happening....

or is it some other reason?

Take this seriously, even if it was your fault you may still get a new engine...I did
It may be more than the tranny.

I also wondered why this happens, sometimes if you do happen to slip it in, it grinds somethin nasty before going in.

Wonder how much damage can be done when you get on it, and grind gears going into third...done it once or twice and it's like scratching a chalkboard.
