Just wondering what kinda bulbs yall have in your headlights. I don't wanna go get the cheap pep boys brand or whatever cuz personally I can't really tell a difference in them. I'm planning on just ordering mine online, but i wanna make sure I get some that look good. Thanks.

the best thing to do is save your money for HIDs cause most of those bulbs that you see burn out pretty quickly.

Any aftermarket bulb you get will most likely burn out much quicker than stock, even name brands like Philips or PIAA. Also, the whiter/bluer/purpler the light, the darker it will be, to the point that you can't see anything at night. HIDs are the best option, since you can get a white/blue color, have much brighter lights than stock, and have bulbs that should outlast the car.

I use Sylvania Silverstars and I love them!

I learned my lesson from paying $50-60 for bulbs that last 1 year. I just installed the 4300k kit last week and you should do the same.

And I learned off others on this board and didn't even bother wasting money on bulbs. I just saved for the HID's. It's a wise long-term investment.

Check my signature... these are the best direct replacement bulbs you can get. Sure HIDs are better, but a great deal more expensive and require labor to install or a decent amount of effort from yourself. Most people will say that the Silverstars are almost as good w/o quite the light output.

Thanks alot guys, i think i'll go with these silverstars at least temporarily while i'm saving for hid's. there's a few things i'd like to do before i go all out with hid's, its just that i have blue streetglow and it looks crappy with "yellow" lights. Anyways I really appreciate the help! =)

I think I bought Silverstars once. It was like stock. I didn't like it so I sold them.
*EDIT* Nevermind, I did a search and I bought the Philips BlueVision. I never had Silverstars.

I have had both.... they are nearly identicle. Whiter than stock, more light output that stock... nothing like HIDs.

I had Philips Blue Visions, and yes, from the outside of the car they look 99% like stock. But from the inside, they're considerably whiter, enough to fool your eyes into thinking they're brighter than stock (whiter illumination of reflective surfaces). Unfortunately, one bulb blew after a few months. That's when I gave up on aftermarket bulbs. If a major name brand like Philips can't make good aftermarket bulbs, nobody can.

Sylvania makes more automotive bulbs than any other manufacturer. If you don't believe me, go pull your stock bulb and it will be a Sylvania. Their Silverstars are king of like a Dodge Neon vs. a Dodge Viper. They are made by the same manufacturer but that is where the similarities end. I've used MANY aftermarket makers and Silverstars are far and away the best. That is why I started carrying them. The only bulb that was close in performance (aside from HIDs) was the PIAA but I couldn't get one of those to last me more than two months at most. I'm not going to tell you that these are brighter than HIDs because anyone who does is lying. What I will tell you is that for considerably less money ($500-$900 less) you can get a bulb that gives off almost as much light in the same Kelvin temperature range and is a direct replacement for your factory bulbs. They are also stock wattage so you don't have to worry about starting an electrical fire by overloading your factory bulb harnesses. I saw a new Trailblazer where the guy put 100watt bulbs in it and it started an electrical fire and took the whole engine bay out and it was totaled. So pretty much your choices are Silverstars or HIDs if you ask around.

saving for HIDs is better and most kits are plug-and-play...

The plug and play aren't as good as the stand alone kits. Either way, they are still quite a bit more expensive than $40 a pair.
