Its time for another oil change on the Celica. But I don't know what oil I should use. I left the US a couple months ago, and I took my Celica with me. I used to use 5W30W. But all they have here is 20W50W.

Is it ok for me to use that oil in my car? Is it gonna damage my engine?
Is it also ok to use that oil with the Celica GTS filter? or is there another filter to go with the 20W50?

One more thing......where I am right now......tempratures in the summer reach up to 100 degrees. So should I keep looking for the 5W30W?

Thanks for the help in advance

20W50 will not hurt anything unless you are in the desert and it gets down in the 30's at night.

I've run 20-50 in my GTS during the hot North Carolina summer and seen no ill effects.

I will try to look for at lest 10w-30 or 10w-40. I wouldn't use 20w-50 unless you have a big V6 or V8 engine. You engine will be working like a POS pumping that thick of a oil.
