this might be a stupid quesiton.. but are all unichips the same for everycar but are programmed differently for each car. what i mean is.. is the actual chip itself the same for every car? i was just wondering because someone with a wrx is practically giving me his unichip.. i guess i just have to have it tuned somewhere. thanks for the info.

I think they make a couple versions but that one should be OK. You'll need a harness and tune. 3-5 hundred extra by the time your done depending on whether your tune is Unichip stock program or custom map.

Hell if you were going to spend that much money, why dont you get something that you can tune on the fly. Like a Power FC. Chips are great, but if you make any changes then you need to get it flashed again...that costs money... A buddy of mine with an RSX has spent over 1200.00 in Hondata flashes....something to think about...

It depends on how hard core your future looks. Set maps from Unichip cost $45. Usually Stock, Intake, intake + exhaust. Custum tunes will be the same as the PFC. Obviously, If you're not using the same bits as Unichip, you won't be spot on for tune but you'll have the stock ecu's cold start, knock and protectection curcuits.
