Ok my wifes 2001 celica gt has 33k miles on it and we purchased an extended warrenty when we purchased it. Now we are decided wether or not to keep it.

Any GT owners have problems with there car?? The car gets its oil changed every 4k miles and hasnt had any real problems(power window motor and headlight).

Im just trying to figure out if its a good idea to keep it.

I have 41,000 km's and the only problems I've had so far are the belt tensioner.

i used my warranty as a hanging ball above their heads when they were gonna give me sh!t about my engine blowing up.. not only did they replace the engine but they also put in a TRD clutch.

It squeeks in rain, the car sounds almost like a diesel engine at idle.

Hey, my car has 35,000 miles on it and I too was considering getting the Toyota Extra Care Platinum but I decided not to since I have only had very few problems, headlight condensation and belt tensioner. Honestly save or keep your money, believe it or not our cars are very reliable, recently awarded the most reliable sporty car by consumer reports

i've had almost 10k in warrenty work done on my car....

i'd be broke right now with out my warrenty. I think that if you can go 33k miles with out a problem you have a keeper, I started having problems at 12k.

PLEASE NOTE I HAVE NEVER MISHIFTED OR BLOWN MY MOTOR

I bought the extended warranty on my 2nd Celica. When I traded it in for my truck I asked them what they'd give me for it and they said $0. I told them that it was easy to transfer and they would be more likely to sell it faster with a full 6yr/100,000 mile warranty on it (it had 20k when I traded it), but they still said $0. So I cancelled it and got my money back. They prorated it based on mileage which didn't seem right to me, because it had less than 36k on it and was still covered 100% by the original factory warranty. Oh well. I got back about $350 of my $450 I think. Something like that.

Coincidentally though -- I bought the extended warranty on my truck also. 5yr/100,000 miles. I'm gonna probably cancel it here in a couple days. I tend to sell my vehicles pretty quickly so there is no way I'm gonna have this truck for 100k miles. At the time I figured I'd get my money's worth because everything on it is expensive. But I've got 2 other vehicles so I can keep the miles off of it and get the full 3 years of full coverage. Plus, I could always buy an extended warranty as I get close to the 36k mark if for some reason I still have the L by then.

theres a mailing address on the contract as well as an explanation of how to cancel and how the prorating takes place.
