me and timport... he has a GT though.. not sure if its a 5spd..

I used the clifford Avaantguard 4... i think its one of the few that comes from the manufacturer supporting manual starters.. the trick in it is that to turn off the engine you just get out of the car and lock the doors and it turns inself off... That way theres no way you can leave it in gear.

I have an auto but yeah that's the whole deal......go to a shop that's willing to do the install it's a little complicated and NO ONE will give you warranty with it as well...it's ILLEGAL to have remote start on stick shift in some states

Seanblader has remote start installed on his GTS 6spd. And most places won't install it on a manual cause they don't want to be sued if you start the car while in gear and it plows thru a wall. ;)

You'll probably have to pay an installer under the table to install it for you.

clifford authorized dealers will put it in if you buy the intellistart module.. (very expensive)

i put one in the auto gt i used to have... installing it in the 6spd couldn't be much harder... you even have the button back behind the dash that if you hold it down you can crank it without the clutch...

i thought about doing it to my new celica, but i decieded to get a stock alarm so there was next to no splicing....

btw, a do it yourselfer like that is not hard, but it will probably be a mess when you are done....
