I really like the way my system sounds currently but I know there is more I can get out of it. I was thinking an amp for my components and maybe a new head unit?

Any suggestions would be appreciated looking to boost sq some more and just get the most out of my current setup.

Alpine CDA 7863
JL XR Components in the front
JL 12w7 with a 500/1 amp powering it.

A good amp that pushes anywhere from 50-150 watts x 2 should make your xrs sound allot better. In the case of a new headunit I would get an eclipse with the 8 volt preamps. They have some of the nicest sq headunits around.

Headunit will make an impact on the SQ? Don't know to much about audio just figured since my hu was a little older it might help. Generally trying to improve SQ any way I can. I guess I should dynamat too.

As for the amp was thinking about a 300/2 amp for the components.

:werd: A headunit with higher pre-amp voltages will help maximize the power and efficiency of the amp.

As for Dynamat, it's over-rated. I've only damped my doors with one layer for my mid-bass drivers, and that's all I need. Damping the doors will help some for mid-bass. If you get a deck with an equalizer, you can adjust your system to get the most out of it.
