Is there some sort of high performnce drum brake replacement for the GT, besides the brash boy ones?

Also is there a write up on how to do it? thanks.

The rear brakes really don't need performance pads, disc or drum. They don't do much of the overall braking. I've heard of people glazing their front pads on the track, and the rearss till looked perfectly fine. Get some good front pads and maybe some slotted rotors.

yeah I'll just replace the rears with OEM ones.

how hard is it to change out the rear shoes? it looks like a bunch of springs holding the shoes in place..

It should be simple, I seen them changed on a honda and it didn't look very difficult, although it would help to have someone that has done this before help you.

I have replacement shoes with Ferodo friction material....its about the best thing out there, much stickier than Toyota shoes and they don't eat up the drums like those hard as a rock parts store chain shoes.

SSBC (http://www.stainlesssteelbrakes.com/products/detail/888/?make=Toyota&model=Celica&year=2000) makes a drum-to-disk conversion kit for the GT.

I've been waiting for over a year to see if anyone on here has tried this kit. As far as I know, no one has. I don't want to be the guinea pig on this one. I've been the guinea pig on enough Celica parts already. :)

Is it for the gt because it just said 2000 celica, i have a 04 but ive heard if you can find a gts at a recycling yard take all brake parts from the e-brake back off the gts and reinstall on the gt. Presto 4 wheel disc brakes, probly really cheap. 100 bucks or so.
