Yeah, how did you get turbo out of that whole thread? Nitrous is the best bang for the buck. Unless you have $3K and endless hours tuning to spend.

the only reason why i said ihe not turbo because if you get turbo, your car would lose reliability and after awhile it's maintnance will cost more..

Yes, and there will always be a give and take with modding. After a while, the price of refilling the nitrous bottle will overcome the initial savings vs other FI. Of course, the more you mod, and the more serious the mod, the worse your reliability becomes. It's all one big game.

refilling nitrous is cheap. unless you race everyday ...which i doubt? so what are you talking about? refilling nitrous will never cost as much as turbo(installation, tuning, fuel management, maintenance)

Turbo----->power all the time. meaning the car is under stress even when not needed
Nitrous---->power when you want.
its your choice though

I know people who have spent hundreds in a month with bottle filling. Don't tell me it wouldn't take a racing season to overcome the cost of a turbo.

Not true at all. When there is no boost produced (during partial throttle openings, or most of the time) there is no additional stress on the engine at all.

K&N Air Filter is $40 and it gives u 2hp at the wheels. That a 1hp = $10 ratio is reall good. Better than exhaust and intake. But ur not getting that much bang. But it is a lot of bang for the buck. Besides that turbo.

math > you
1hp = $20 according to your numbers. Plus for that amount of cash, grab an Ebay CAI for $50 shipped to your door and get 10hp.

the guy didn't say he race everyday and he probably won't.. nos is his best way to go, he'll never spend more on nitrous than getting a turbo

Until the bottle runs out and you have to spend another 40-50 bucks for a fresh can.
Of course if your geting the turbo it's going to have to be tuned and you'll probably need a better clutch and throw in the fly wheel...........................
I think I'll change my original thoughts the best bang for buck would be nitrious depending on how much you use it and what you use it for.

Wouldn't N2O be more expensive to use considering what it could do to your engine if you were to abuse it or your car wasn't setup properly for the increased power? I have heard of people having to replace whole engines, which is probably more expensive than a turbo.

anything not set up properly can lead to replacing a whole engine. turbo or n2o..it doesnt matter

Exactly--and I would even say that turbo is much harder to tune for and less reliable than N20.

True enough. I guess the question is this then: What would be cheaper...N20 or a Turbo (including the costs of preping/engine setup for both)?

turbo: you're going to need tuning, a clutch and a fly wheel. The nitrious will likely be less of a daily stress on your car and more of a stress on your wallet. Could N20 cause the same problems as a turbo as far as the tranny and engine goes? probably but since you won't use it as much it's less likely to happen.
That said I'd still rather have the one that is available to me when ever I want it and doesn't run out when A bottle gets low. Not to mention that it's illegal to have hooked up here.

the best bang for your buck is to check out the installs section and look at how to take out the intake butterfly you get 2 horses for free
