whats up guys i have a heavily modded 2000 GT-S. anyway i drove a TC yesterday and i agree with everyone its a very nice car. it had some power but i probably wouldnt buy it without the supercharger that doesnt come out untill the fall. it has alot of features you wouldnt expect from a car that only costs 16 grand. i think it has alot of potentail i probably wouldnt buy it without the supercharger but i encourage everyone to go out and test drive it.

I know personally I would not get the s/c option.. I'd take that 3grand and put it towards a turbo kit.

Why is everyone jumping in this tc bandwagon? It seems like everyone is selling their celica's to buy a tc. Since the Celica is no longer in production it is going to be a collectors item and worth more than the tc that everyone and their mother is gonna have. IMO the celica looks ten times better, you can flame me all you want, but I'm stickin with the Celica:gap:

celica owners and the owners we see on nc.org have been droping out way b4 the TC im sure it has nothing to do with the celica being no longer in production after 2005. it's just another car out. a real good car for the price tage and that's all. imo

Come on now, the Celica is not exactly a limited edition car. And it is VERY VERY rare that a car becomes a collector's item. Most likely it will just kill the resale value of the Celi...

:werd: 7th gens are all ready in the out of the 5 digit asking price for many 00' gt's and some gts's. A very pristine one may mean something in 15-20 years though.

i dont see how it can kill the resale value. wouldn't the resale value be pretty steady due to the fact that there won't be any new models comming out? much like the last gen prelude?

Well, my theory is that someone would say "why pay $$$ for a used Celica when I can get this *new* TC that's pretty cool looking". It's a random ass guess, I admit, but I think it makes some sense - the TC is functionally the "new model". I dunno how the last gen Prelude market is, but Hondas do pretty well on resale generally.

just wondering have the internals (pistons, head, valves, rods etc.) been changed to accomodate the added boost from the sc??? or is it basically the stock motor + sc??

I think if it was my daily driver it would be S/C all the way. Project car = turbo.. Turbos are a lot more frustation in a daily driver..Even starting out with a car that is turbo-charged from the factory..

In many things yes. More efficient etc etc..However. Tuning is usually harder since you are putting a decent amount more air in the engine than was originally intended. Usually bigger injectors are needed as well as a fuel pump etc... For general plug and play safe power nothing beats a S/C :D

A S/C is great when the car is already fast. ;)

There are S/C out there that can make a mild car fast..Things like twin-screw and centifugal s/c can approach turbo numbers without a large hassle..
