View Full Version : TCC Monthly Meet for April 13

I know this is supposed to be the out of town meet but it was my suggestion that we have the out of town meet another weekend and we all go to the Cliffs in Austin... The cliffs are along side a lake in a national park. During the day we can swim in the lake and Jump off the cliffs which are about 30' - 40' cliffs and 5' in other sections. Then we can camp saturday night and leave Sun afternoon. We should do this at the end of April or beginning of May because the water will be cold until then... I'd say the monthly meet in May to be sure.... Any Suggestions feel free to give your opinion

man i am so down for that meet for a camping trip one and we should all bring a friend so at night we can party and get drunk and stuff

Which lake? Lake Travis? My parents have a summer house right on that lake, and I can tell you from experience - that water is cold as sh!t until mid-May/early June. We used to freeze our asses off in that water when we were kids - had to stay on the jet skis and sh!t

I think it's lake travis... There is a State park by it and on the other side from the park is a bunch of houses....

Maybe we should do this in the May meet or at the end of May like the last weekend.

i went diving in lake travis a while back and it was a pretty cold lake i had to use a wetsuit

OK, Tell me if this is OK for everybody????

I looked into it and it looks like the weekend of April 26, 27, & 28 will be the best weekend. I asked everybody I know that go down there all the time and they said that the end of april is always the best time coz it's not too hot and it's not too cold and the water is not too low so the cliff isn't too high, Then there won't be a bigg a$$ crowd of people taking up all the camping spots.... We want one of the spots between the cliffs and the regular swiming area.

For those that Hate camping but want to go for the swimming part there are a few Motels down the road you can stay at and go to the park to hang out during the day/evening.

I was thinking about leaving Friday 4/26/02 in the evening so we will already be there when we wake up in the morning. A few of my friends are gonna go up friday morning and mark the camping territory so we don't have to worry about getting a bad spot but I'll have to let them know how many of us are gonna go.

I know most of you live in the Houston area. I'm leaving for Dallas Friday morning from Beaumont (I live in New Orleans). Currently I have one member following me up to Dallas. Question is, are there any members that would like to leave from the Mall (I forgot the exact name) in Beaumont and take highway 287 (its a nice scenic highway) to Fairfield and then take I-45 to Dallas.
