Toyota Echo

Hey,

I was walking pass my parking complex today and noticed this small dinky car and I thought it was one of those Aero thing. But as I got closer to it, I saw the Toyota logo, and then it said Echo.

It looks pretty cute for a little dinker lol.

It is the Canadian version of the Echo Hatchback 2004. Looks a lot better then what we have available here.

we have 2 types of echos...one is hatch and one is not, they are both ugly in my opinion. My dad works for toyota here at head office in TO, he said the hatch was a mix of the jap vitz and the euro yaris. It starts at around $13000 CAD or $10000 USD.

to give you guys more info, the canadian two door echo hatchback is cheaper than 4 door hatch back, the trunk space is incredible. the chairs are high above the ground, and the gauges are on the center console just like the mini cooper. interior is cloth and you have about 100 options to customize your echo. from interior, you can add sound system etc. and exterior, you can have skirts, larger rims, roof spoiler, and aerodynamic stuff. but no performance options. that is all i can remember.


i really want one too but don't wanna ppl to laugh at me.. a guy driving that little egg-like car with loud exhaust..

that red echo(vitz) is sweet! i've seen a 2door hatch canada echo and it a lot better looking than the version here in the states!

so, vvtli does fit in an echo, but i remember i heard the car is too light or something about the tranny that it can't use the vvtli to its potential.

Its a Canadian version of the Vitz. Honestly, i'd get one if they were sold here in the US. Its a nice econo-car... looks a lot better than the xA/xB, prius, insight, etc. Lots of part in Japan for these cars.

how can i find out info about buying one of these cars and bringing it back to the us i could easily take the ferry over to halifax there are questions such as tarrifs the cars are set up with the steering wheel on the right side as opposed to ours onthe left side then the speedometer is in killometers ???i dont know if its worth it any info appreciated thanks roman

you dont need to find info on importing them over... they're about to be sold here in the US, so sit back and chillax. I want one myself. We should be getting them sometime this year under Toyota (not Scion, thank gawd) with the name, "Yaris." I'd rather take the name Vitz, but no, we had to take its European name.
