assuming you are not talking about mazdaspeed, stock is high 15's to low 16's in 1/4 mile and 0-60 is around 7.8 depending on condition and where the it is being tested.
may not seem all that impressive but that is not what the car is built for, it's built for driving pleasure and cornering, the skidpad is .90g, which means the car handles much better than 350z's .88g.

Earlier Miatas had 8.1. However, it isn't hard to make it run 5 with mods, and a street legal miata or two has pulled 12's on the 1/4 on street tires.
A lot of the beauty of the Miata is in the aftermarket. I didn't mod mine hardly at all, but it is one of the best platforms you can start with for a performance car. There are turbos galore, lots of suspension upgrades, the works!

Your kidding right? What year Mazda Miata are we talking about here? I have a friend that used to own a 2000-2001 Mazda Miata 5 speed, slightly modded, and also had a little weight reduction. We played around on the interstate one night and finally decided to all out race. We raced on and off the interstate, from a stand still and from a roll. I was on heavy 17's had 2 passengers+me, full interior and my all stock auto at the time. We ran and I walked his ass. So a Miata cannot be a 15 second ride by no means. I mean I have pulled off some beautiful 16.5 + second passes with my stock auto but there is know way in hell I could outrun a 15 second car in my stock auto GT. By the way we went from a roll, stand still the whole nine yards and I got him everytime. The sad thing is he was giving it all he had, he is a good driver, and he had no passenger and I still beat him. You wouldn't think so since at the time my Celica with passengers probably weighed 2950 pounds or so vs. his Miata that weighs less LOL. I dunno but I have raced several Miatas and I didn't find any of them to be 15 second cars. However, Miata's are not really built for speed anyways they are built for the track. You can flat tear up a track in a Miata if you are a decent driver.

.88
C&D had .86, I think, but they got .88 in a Miata. I think earlier miatas could hold .9, they've put on weight and a good amount of cush since '90

Skidpad is good for judging different tire/suspension setups on a single car. Comparing skidpad numbers of two different cars doesn't really the whole story. How many people pushing their car to the limits are using stock tires anyways.

but as said before. Lateral G numbers are very depending on driver skill (timing/reaction) and the set of tires. Not JUST a raw depcition of what the car can and cant do.

But like it's been said you don't buy a Miata for its 1/4 time.

Well, when it first came out, 8 sec was a respectable 0-60. Back in my dumb teenage years when I'd do stoplight drags, I'd find myself running even with accords. The Toyota Sienna actually hits 0-60 in under 8 sec.
Miata has a high revving turbo engine without a turbocharger. It's a weak engine N/A, but it responds very well to turbo. I've read that it was designed that way intentionally, to keep the price down and insurance costs down, and left the aftermarket to figure out the horsepower problem, however, they made that pretty easy.
