I mishifted my car and blew my engine about 6 months ago, and toyota decided to fix the engine instead of putting a new one in. Anyway, they had my car for 2 months and I go to pick it up and I try to start it and a fuel line comes off. I fix that in the parking lot myself, then get it started, and it ran like crap. I get it home and me and my dad take the valve cover off to check the timing, it ends up being off 3 teeth, so we fix that and it runs decent, but the vvtl-i doesnt kick in anymore. So I ordered the TRD clutch, and read some stuff on how the engine works. There are 2 sensors on the head, one for lift, and one for oil pressure, that engage when we hit 6000 rpm's. I just put these in today, and now my car runs like the day that I bought it. So if there is anybody that has this problem in the future that is what you need to replace. I also have the parts numbers for the sensors if anyone needs them now.
