Summary:
THE THROTTLE BODY MOTOR MAY MALFUNCTION CAUSING THE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT (MIL) TO ILLUMINATE ON THE DASH, AND THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) WILL STORE A TROUBLE CODE AND PLACE THE VEHICLE INTO A LIMP HOME MODE. TOYOTA WILL INITIATE SPECIAL SERVICE CAMPAIGN 30I TO INSPECT AND/OR REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY. *TT

MFchop, that poses no safety hazard, so I doubt it would be considered for a recall. The car just goes into safe mode. If the throttle body went crazy and made the car accelerate, then it would be a good candidate for a recall.Originally posted by TaeMachine
What is the throttle body motor? It controls the throttle body when you press on the gas. 03+ has drive by wire, so there is no throttle cable, only a sensor on the gas pedal and a motor on the throttle body. Seems to be more trouble than it's worth...

once but the main thing is that my cruise contorl dosent work! rememdber its an 03 with dbw it built into the throttle body
