i already know PFC is not obd2 compatible, so it wont report emission problems such as bad CAT, O2, or leaks in the EVAP system. i was wondering what it is capable of monitoring. reading the PFC manual (http://www.apexi-usa.com/productdocumentation/powerFC.pdf) i found out:

1) knock : CEL flashes 3 times at .1 sec intervals
2) injectors at max capacity : CEL flashes at .5 sec intervals
3) malfunction in MAF, IAT, TP, and CT sensors : CEL on

so i'm thinking that's it? what if there's a malfunction in VVTi system or the lift OCVs, etc.

Plug the stock ECU back in and run aroudn for a day and see if you get any CELs I guess. Or datalog alot and look at your vvti and lift data periodically to see if there are any anomolies.

it's only a 2 min job to swap pfc for the stock ecu

just plug your stock ecu in every month or so to see if you're getting any CEL's

hardly a big deal...
