Hey guys ...
I was wondering if anyone else have the same problem I am having. My check engine light has been on for some time. I had to get a smog check done this year so I was forced to fix my car. After being tested once the technician told me that the check engine light was due to the primary o2 sensor so i got that fixed and a few days later the check engine light came back on again. But my main concern is that my car is now from what it seems to be running on safety mode. I can't even vvtl-i past 6500 and the car just bogs when I step on the throttle all the way it jerks and does not really accelerate. Can anyone care to explain b4 I take my car into the dealer thanks.

Have the code read, and post what code you are getting...diagnosing things that trigger a CEL could not be easier.
Most autoparts stores will read the code for free.

If it's P0420...it's most likely your cat.

I just went through this and it totally sucked! I had it read for free at Autozone. Random misfiring cylinders is what came back. I took my car to the dealership and all kinds of stuff was wrong with it. I am just glad that warranty covered most of it. I did have to pay quite a bit out of my own pocket though. And I was having problems like you. Engine was bogging down especially after sitting for a while. I am still having some issues with my car. I feel Toyota dropped the ball on quality control when they built this car. I am just done with it! I am looking into a Vette and 350 Z this weekend. Good luck.

What did they do? Replace your ignition components? What did you have to pay out of pocket for?
