Here is the link from Simon Smith:
Well it certainly seems to be working well on the MAP sensor, seems
my WB02 has a fault so I couldnt get it to run right at all.
Setting the MAP sensor up is a doddle and I didnt even bother to
recalibrate the intake scales at all. I simply got a map sensor off
a JDM Supra and wired that in, power is taken from the TPS which
runs at 5volts and the signal output is returned to the ECU. I have
disconnected both the MAF wires on the sensor to avoid issues with
the readings. IAT is still in place on the MAF and seems to be
working well although I have still got to relocate it as the temp
readings go up to 50/60 degrees, mostly becuase the filter is right
behind the rad ;)
The car is extremely responsive on the MAP sensor, more so than it
ever was on the MAF and its a nice easy mod for those going boosted
on their 1ZZ/2ZZ engines.
Cheers
Simon
As you can tell he does not have U.S. spec car, but it is an option one may want to try out.

aren't you on the datalogit forum? This was the lastest email I got from that datalogit forums, only caught my eye because I saw 1ZZ/2ZZ.
I do recall the guy with id celicaUK is called Simon (unless I am mistaken) and he did make a supercharger kit for Celica in U.K... He also said boosting on 1ZZ/2ZZ....
Simon is celicauk. He is very knowledgable and a very nice guy. Props to him for making it work. Now TBs can be made to work with a PFC :D

Lemme know if you want to try this Mike - I already know how we would need to wire it up. Any MAP sensor off like a 1997 or older Corolla, or a 2001 or older camry would work.

If you could make a write up on how this is done that would be awesome. The MAF sensor is a PITA.

:gap: my car = experiment mobile :) I wonder if the setup for the RSX can be adapted to our cars? that would be the last resort super expensive way to get itbs. just a thought.

well TWM said that ITB's can be fitted to a 2zz-ge no problem. The problem lies in fitting it under the hood of the celica. Looking at the engine bay and how the engine sits...it looks like it may be a lil bit of a problem. The ITB's would have to be angled down to the radiator it cant go up because the hood comes down right there. Converting to a MAP sensor would still nonetheless make the installation a TON easier.

Does it sound like its going to be good to do this mod?
Right now I am just alittle busy at work, or else I would already have PowerFC installed and tunned...
Wanna pm me how much you want for this mod? If you will help me tune my PowerFC at your sponsor for your team dyno place that would be great too. Give me a price through pm please :)

thats assuming you plan on using the stock hood :gap: with enough time and money you could make itb's fit on just about any car lol
