You're probably thinking about that guy vatik. He turned the seatbelt guy into a VVTL-I engagement icon. Pretty fresh if you ask me! Maybe you can ask him how he went about doing it?

Here are the pics, but they were taken with a camera phone instead of my good camera. If you are more interested, i can go take some better ones for you.

As far as the headlights go, they are pretty much done. I will have them to my group buy people here in 5-6 weeks, im just waiting on payments. I am avoiding making post about it in this forum until they are sent out. I want to become a sponsor and have a bunch ready to go before I reveal any final details.

for now. i never got around to finishing that project up completly. i got side tracked by more important things.
mallory makes an rpm trigger, that im almost sure would work. basically just hook it up to a 12volt led, and make it turn on when you hit 6300 rpm. place a little black tape over the old seatbelt led, and there you go.

the cost of the trigger is about $45. i assume it is relatively straight forward.

^^^Steven, save the $45 and power the light with the OCV voltage.

Thanks Eric, does that voltage change with rpm? I don't quite understand how this would work, please explain.

if you can figure out a way to make it work im might consider doing it :)

Steven,
The voltage to the OCV off of lift will be 1v which will likely illuminate the LED so dimly that it is in effect visually off. When the ECU kicks lift in the OCV actuation voltage spikes to 9v and remains there until the engine falls off of lift. This voltage is more than sufficient to illuminate an LED with an appropriate voltage correction resistor in series to the LED. The easiest place to tap the OCV wires is on the harness near to the OCV plug on the driver

vatik, where did you get the vvtl-i thing to put in place of the seatbelt guy?

I made it with an inkjet printer and a piece of transparency film. The black ink still allowed light to come through, so I went back over it with a black paint marker. Its also a good idea to put a piece of wax paper behind the icon to difuse the light.
