REALLY dumb question!!!

Ok, so today i am washing the car, drying,etc. i am all done, and i noticed on the hood in the front (where the latch would hook on) i noticed a small small dent..BUT the catch is, its not a dent. I look so close, at so many angles its 100% flat. no dent. but when i look as it, it looks like a dent(you can usually see a dent because how it shines from the rest of the car). i know this prob makes NO sense but i am kinda pissed off. so i moved the car back a few inches hoping it was something making it reflect and i still see it. WHAT IS THIS?! i just dont see it being a dent because i can usually tell a dent when i see one. any clues?? thanks.

Have you run your finger across the surface to try and feel for a dent? It could also be a small paint chip..maybe. What color is your car? If it's neither of those, I think you must be seeing things man..ask if someone else can see it

Do you use Zaino? I have a similar situation with my car. I parked on the side of a restaurant parking lot today so nobody would park next to me well half way through my mean my g/f looks up at my car and says look. I looked over there, out the window, and there is some big ****ing Z71 that parked less than a foot away from my car. Now I was thinking why the hell did he do this out of all those parking spot he parks right next to me. I assumed the worst and expected a big ding in my car from this guy since it happens a lot. The last time this happened I got pissed and puched the persons car that dinged mine. I was expecting to have words with this guy as well. However, after paying for our meal and walking outside I could not really see any dents so I drove home. Well upon getting home the lighting had changed and sure enough there was what looked like a dent on my front passenger side fender. It was about the correct spot to since my car sits like 2 inches lower than stock. His truck was raised up so it was at the perfect height for his door to catch this part of my fender. I was pissed. However, the dent is not really a sharp dent, you can see what appears like a dent but the closer you get the more it disappears. You cannot feel it at all so I assumed that maybe it was the lighting. I looked and looked, moved my car and well thought it was the lighting. Well I figured I would wait until night because it is eaier for me to see a dent at night when light reflects off it differently than it would during the day. Well sure enough at night it lookslike a huge freaking dent, but you cannot feel it. I dunno what the deal is. Then I looked down the passenger side door and noticed these places that looked like dents as well and I was like that is not a dent. Upon closer inspection these looked more like smudges of sme kind that appeared to be dents but actually was not. It was where I zainoed the car a few days ago. The weird thing is that there aer just these two places. Now I cannot figure out if what I see in my front fender is an acutal dent or a Zaino smear that somehow appears like a dent. I am still pissed either way. I think I am just going to start carrying a baseball bat with me and everytime someone hits my car with their door I am going to hit their's with my bat.

The funny thing is my friend has a Corolla that is like a year oldand he has no dents at all. He drives more than I do and parks anywhere. My car is like almost two years old and has dents, chips, scratches etc. and I go way out of my way to avoid these things. He doesn't care and gets none. I don't get it. This is why I miss my POS.

By the way what you se in your hood could be from improperly applied clear coat. Sometimes clear coat will bubble duringthe drying process and mushroom out, and then flattening to an extent. When you look at it it will appear to look like a dent or dimple but will feel smooth as it can be.
