for the second time, I had a problem with the headlights....the first time, my turn signal bulb on the passenger side "melted" off the bronze contact...the glass just melted off...and the bulb was stuck inside the headlight....neither of my two ratchet sets fit the bolts that take the headlight off.
Now, my main headlight bulb blew...and when I went to remove it, I found out that the plastic part that it plugged into is MELTED like an ice cream bar.....what the f*ck????? I guess I have to get it cut and have a new contact spliced on? It really pisses me off that I have to throw down money for this garbage...
to make matters worse, every time I get up in the morning, I see my hood cracked open :(

Hmm why not just take it to the dealer? Or do you have imitation HID bulbs in your headlights?

I have no choice but to take it to the dealer now :( it's yet another big inconvenience for me on saturday morning. And yes, I have the hyper whites in there...but they were there for a year and all of a sudden this happened....

I might as well put the stock sh*ts in....I'm hoping to sell the car sometime so it doesnt matter that much. Would have been cool :(

I gave up on the whole super/hyper/plasma/etc. white bulb thing, too. They were either too blue to see with, or they burned out in three months. I guess I'm gonna keep my Phillips VisionPlus bulbs. Good thing I found some wedge bulbs that match them. :)
What kind of turn signals did you have? And are you sure they were glass? Never heard of anything like that happening.

WTF? The ones you bought, or the one from my car? I had my bulbs in for at least two months before I gave them to you. How long did it take to melt?

lol...the week later. I dont remember which one was your old one and the new one from Strauss....but it was the passenger side bulb...the glass popped off the bronze contact, I've never seen anything like that. It was stuck inside the headlight and the entire thing had to be taken apart so I could shake it out. I dont know why these f*cks insist on making cars so that everything has to be such a damn struggle...

Guess it wasn't a good sign that the other one broke when I was installing it. :(

When you say "white", do you mean whitish-yellow, whitish-blue, or pure white?

philips blue vision is definitely not whitish-yellow, the light(beam) that it projects is white, and it looks very nice. i highly recommend it because you know its quality, and its stock output of 55w, so its not going to burn your sockets. Its not BMW blue, its not even blue, if its anything, its like 60 to 70% of a S-Class. If you want blue, go buy PIAAs or the real thing. Its more pure white than anything. photos do not do these bulbs justice.

Not looking for blue, that's for sure. I used to have MTEC super white bulbs, and they were perfect. Pure white. Minimal loss in visibility. Reflective surfaces lit up even better than stock. Unfortunately, they burned out after a few months.
I may have to snag me a pair of these. :D

email dave draper and get the parts that melted thats what i did and if you don't want stock bulbs the only ones i reccomend is piaa they draw low watts and put out alot of watts.

Phillips blue vision bulbs are great. I bought them from some place in england, got a buy two get one free deal!. Bright white with just a hint of blue, vision is great as is lifetime of bulb. ...and as a bonus, they won't fry your plastic sockets :)

The reason why the wiring harness melted is beacuse you used a 100W bulb correct? Stick to the 55W I had the ****y super whites or whatever the **** u wanna call them for over a year and it didnt die or blow up etc... HID's are greatt though ;)
