Burning PLastic?

Everytime after I drive lately I've been getting a kinda burnt plastic smell. I'm sure its not my clutch, cause I'm not over- reving or anything. Happens even when i dont drive that hard. Does anyone know what could be causing the smell?

check ur underpanel n see if its rubbin against the cement.......check the plastic right next to ur rims...if its not bolt it on correctly then it can rubb agianst the tires......ahhh check and make sure that the oil plug is in correctly....check to see if anythin is loose....after doin that n if u cant find any problem then look under the hood...

If your car is brand new, it might have that smell for a little while. Just everything getting burned in (kinda like breaking in ;) ). My car smelled like that in the beginning, too.

man, when i worked at the toyota dealership i used to test drive cars all the time, and i remember bringing an mr2 back after ripping around in it and there was smoke coming out of the exhaust and from under the hood. on any car that toyota ships from japan (mr2, celica, highlander, land cruiser, etc.) they spray a coating on the engine and exhaust parts to prevent any corrosion from the salty sea air on the way over. it burns off within the first few hundred miles.

My car isnt new....It already has about 35000 miles on it...The burning smell just started recently...Do you know what else could b the problem?

maybe you ran a plastic bag over and its stuck on the under carriage

my mufler was rubbing on my bumper and it burned. lol
