It is also generally true to life.

West coasters are just weird.

I have a very good example that a few people over here would recognize.

Interesting article. He probably dealt with a couple guys that weren't too helpful. The one thing I don't really like is that he is generalizing that this is how many West Coast racers are.

I offer my $.02 only in this thought. It is completely my dwelling on the article I just read. Two names to throw out: Steph Papadakis and Adam Saruwatari (sp)

I have met Steph, and he seemed pretty cool. But I think that in Chris's shoes, things may seem different. One of the first things I remember hearing about in this industry almost 4 years ago was how shady Adam was and how he refused to race with someone in the other lane. Weak.

On the other hand, I have never met a racer with as much knowledge about the game and the technical side of things as Abel Ibarra. That guy is soooooooooooo damn smart. I learned more in a 20 minute limo ride about this industry than a year of reading about it.

Shaun Carlson is definitely a pimp. I'll just leave it at that.

Christian Rado. What can I say? Chris and Jay Szabo at World mean the world to me. I grew up in LA. I lived there for quite a while, before migrating to the middle of nowhere here in Nebraska. For the last 5 years, anyone that knows me knows how much I love the West coast and how bad I want to go back. I have visited the East side a few times, but it was nothing but a visit. Then I met Jay. This guy is all personality. He's a great guy just to shoot the sh!t with. He knows his food too. :D

Chris. This is a brotha that speaks the truth. He is honest and has an evident history built around family. This is the kinda of guy that bleeds energy. He is someone that you can count on. When he talks about how he likes to help people out sometimes... that is very wrong. It happens just about every chance he gets. You take care of me, and I'll take care of you. That should be his modo. He has taken care of me more times than I can recall, and I try to return the favor every chance I get. I'm not saying this cuz I know him. I'm saying this because I know him. I say this because Christian is very upfront, honest, and treats me like family. Need I say more? Now I know why World has succeeded as well as they have.

After knowing these guys for a year, and investing as much as I have with them and gaining their devoted friendship, I have pushed the idea of moving back to Cali, where family and friends reside. I am trying my damnest to find a job on the East cost that would allow me to move closer to my boys at World. They went from clients to friends in 7.9 seconds. (Weak attemt for a laugh)

Here's an interesting article. Did you know that Rado's record 8.9 run in the unibody Teg was made not with one of World Racing's own engines, but with an engine bought from "West Coasters" Gary and Lisa Kubo? Check it out: http://www.turbomagazine.com/archives/features/0502_features02.shtml

Hehe...We ain't so bad after all.

I don't think there was an implication that all west coasters are bad, there are plenty of cool cats out there. Chris is just speaking from experience over the last few years and speaking in general terms.
Later Guys,
Jay

it was only a spare block from kubo's camp

"People don't know it, but we ran the 8.91 last year with a B16 (1.6 liter) engine out of Gary and Lisa Kubo's car. It was just a spare Del Sol block he had and we threw a stock GSR head on it -- not even a porting or cleanup job on it -- and went the 8.91. It was our manifold and our turbo setup that made the difference.

PapiChuu,
My point was not that the Kubo's should take all the credit for the quick run. It was that Rado was helped out by some West Coast peeps. Just a positive story about West Coast racers helping out.

And we love Gary and Lisa for it......... They are great people, and probably should have been mentioned, but there is a huge list of West Coasters that should be on the list, like all of the Turbonetics people they rule!!

hahaha... Well I met him when he came out here to West Coast to visit his not so friendly sister who let him borrow her SUV to drive around. hahaha Just kidding man... Neways the guy is really nice, I stopped at a gas station and Chris drove up and look over said Nice car (when I just got my Veilside kit on)! I said thanks (don't know who he is or ever seen pics of him). He said have you kept up on whats going on in Celica community? I bull **** around with him about the websites and then mentioned him just wish his damn car come out so more parts for our car come out, he pulled his wallet out (out of state license forgot what state it was) and there it is Chris Rado!!! I am kicking myself right now, he then showed me his car (he had his laptop) saw whole bunch of his car he said he will be at SEMA to unvail his car... He also showed a clip of him driving a integra, he also talked about a course down in Florida he drove in that could have killed him being so bad... Neways he is definately a nice guy, easy to talk to and stuff. Just wish I had more time to talk to him, I had to go drop my buddy off.... Oh! when I went to SEMA I saw him again thats how I knew it was him (also some pics that pops up here and there)

Yeah In-N-Out kick butt and so does FatBurger, they are by far the best burger places in the country. You also have Krispy Kreme but, most of your other food besides Korean BBQ, kind of sucks. Come to the East Side and we can talk food, NY, Philly....... no comparison.
We are wrenching away to try and make the first race, of course we had setbacks as usual, but that's what happens when relying on other people (mostly West Coasters ;-) ) lol. We can not wait to get this car out there, for ourselves and all of the fans. We do promise that when it is running, everyone will be impressed.
Leroy has also gone through many awesome changes! We can't wait to show off this season, all of you are invited to come check it out, just ask me, I think we are very approachable, just don't ask the angry looking white guy.....lol.
Later Guys....

As much as I love Waffle House (even thought the nearest one is pretty much out side of driving range for me), I would give them all up for jsut one In N Out Burger. Best burger ever. If you dont think so, you have never tried one.

Uh-oh! World Racing is judging us West Coasters based on their dealings with TRD?! NO WONDER why we seem like a$$holes! Hehe.;)
