i m very sad now, here is the story
when I am going over 80km/hr, and foot off the gas, a high pitched sound heard , probably from the engine.
today i went to the dealer to checkup my car first 1000km.
and i told them the problem, they said that i have to change a new Transmission. WTF ?? just got my car 2 weeks ago, my car only got 1000km on it , and is ****ed already ??
anyone experienced this problem ?
damn what should i do ??
btw my car is GT auto,
OK first of all ..... have you been neutral droping ??? My friend has a GT auto and he does it .... they had to replace his transmission.
Now dont lie .. have you been??!!:nono:
I used to have a GT auto before my GT-S 6 spd, and that gt auto felt like a rock ! It was a great solid build!

BRAK, what does neutral droping mean ? like , when I almost comes to a full stop , I put the gear into neutral.
NO ... it means you have it in neutral rev it up .. then put it into drive ... causing it to peel out .. and put MAJOR stress on your engine.

yea, not even a dime, it s under warranty
i am very disappointed cuz i just got the car 2 weeks ago and 1000km on it and now what ? need a new damn transmission.
BRAK: thats normal when i release the gas and got those sound ???
btw thanks ur input :)
well the sound im talkin about is a whiirrrrrr when i rev at 3000 rpm and up ... it sounds like a jet engine sound .... i hear it whirring down when i let off the accelerator ... its not a tssiiiiii sound ... more of a whirrrr. It's a cool frickin sound ... i dont blast my music because i like hearing the engine rev and shift ... call me crazy but i like engine screaming sound over most music. LOL;)
I've heard a lot of automatics make a soft whining sound. I think it's normal. Especially for a new car. Does the tranny shift ok? Smoothly? Does the car perform normally? I doubt there's anything wrong unless the car was horribly abused in a test drive before you bought it.

Uhm, I believe it is the Torque converter making that sound, have you ever driven an automatic before? Cause all my otehr automatic cars make similar sounds, expecially when I drive minivans and larger vans and trucks, they make that jet sound... I perosnally like it a lot, sounds like you have Turbo :) Why did the dealer say you need a new tranny?

Pure Racer, those sound came from when my car is going over 80km/hr and release the gas (just want to clear it) , not braking.
the dealer told me thats never happened before, and they gotta inspect more , and said it caused by the transmission.
wth ? i m confused!!!!!!!

for me.... the jet sound... like a jet engine slowing down or something.. only happens at low speeds.. cuz otherwise at high speeds i cant hear it.... but as i slow down... it sounds like a jet.... its been talked about before... all the manny tranny owners were like WTF are they talking about... but ITS THERE I TELL U!!:gap:
i dont see why u need a new tranny.. it seems like the dealership WANTS to fooook themselves over or something... "hey theres a minor problem, lets get him a new transmission and we're down another thousand dollars."
either that, or the service department is run by a woman who's hitting on u.

Why is it that it's ok to do that in a manual but not on an auto?

Hmm, I really don't think it's a big deal... When the weather is extremely cold here, my car usually makes a louder high pitched wrr sound when I accelerate, is it cold in your area right now? Or when I just start my car and drive off, it makes a very loud wrr sound and I've had my car for 2 years too... Hm, maybe I should take my car in too and ask... I gotta get some stuff fixed anyways...

i took my car into the dealer once cause it kept doing this weird thing when the tach hit 6000 PRM... i told him it was annoying me cause my neck would snap back and hit the headrest.. they told me they never felt that before.. they wanted to replace the tranny and the ashtray but i told them to keep the tranny and that it was probably the ashtray causing the problem...
LOL... ok i'll stop here...
My GT's been doing that from day one, now i have 60,000Kms on it and still runs perfect.
