i was told by a friend that my car is waisting for gas because for like the last couple of months i have been using 89 instead of 91 octane in my auto gts, is this true or is my friend just bluffing. thanks also what can i do if i want to put 91 now instead of 89 is it a good idea to mix the two fuels. thanks.

No, the car is not wasting gas. However, you may not see as much horsepower as you would with 91, but that really depends on a lot of things. If you're not driving the car hard, and it doesn't ping, don't worry about it.

Also, you can mix different octane fuels with no problem.
