need info on material used to do sub inclosures

I saw a show on TV ,they where doing some sub inclusures with a sort of rag material. It was like a stretchable cloth , and they where puting some sort of resin to harden it up. It was not fiberglass. Anyone know what was it and what sort of resin they used?
