i got a problem. i was just recently in an accident, and i lost control and ran over some big rocks. maybe 1-2ft high. when i went over those rocks, i left a dent in my chassis, or frame, whatever you want to call it. the dent is located underneath the car around the passenger side door area. and that part is where a jack is placed to lift a car if you had a flat. what im trying to ask, is, is there anyway to fix a dented chassis?? is there some type of tool that repair shops use to fix it. i mean the dent isnt all that big, and its not big enough to total the car, but i just want my baby back to normal. ive only had it for 2 months and already in one wreck. please help!!!

As far as I know it isn't very fixable (within reason). I've seen it all the time on various cars and so far it's never been a big deal.

Miata's are notorius for having dents underneath (low to the ground and very thin sheet metal).

do you think that its the chassis, cuz it located about where the jack would be used to lift a car?? is that the chassis part or something else??

btw where the jacks are supposed to get there already are 2 dents to mark off that location... are you sure the rocks did it?

It's hard to asses a problem without seeing it. Got any pics? I'd just take it to a body shop. They should be able to say wether it's repairable or not.

that lip where ur jack lifts the car is called the sill ( i work in a body shop). that metal is quite tough there. the way to fix it would be to hammer it back into shape although some heat may be required. u'd need to use a dolly too,( to correct the shape as u hammer it). like it was said, maybe it just best to take it to a body shop. by the way... im only going by what u described
