Man I was so pissed at looking at that article. So many RSX's done up already. Some many tuners jumping on it. Numerous turbo kits for it. Not one Celica! Not any news on mods for our car from anybody. Where is the coverage!!! We deserve more respect!!! Does the K series motors have a returnless fuel system like us??? I have been told that is the big reason holding alot of FI systems from being used on these newer engines.

Yup, K series has a returnless fuel system and high compression just like we do. There is NO legit reason why we don't have more parts.

The reason is Honda is very willing to hand out cars to tuners. Toyota is very tight fisted. Very few companies will go out and buy a car to work on like Hotchkis did.

exactly, Toyota has always been this way, so Toyota's sports cars, while always respected, have been somewhat of an enigma when it comes to aftermarket. the 2JZ/3S-GTE cars did ok cuz they were so easy to mod (turbos), but the 2ZZ is inherently different.
there's a lot of power to be had, but we'll have to think to achieve it. not just bolt on or swap around parts.
also kinda cool that we're the first ones doing this thing, so however you wanna mod your car, you'd be pioneering the field... :D

That's cuz honda doesn't have an equivalent to TRD. TRD is kickin us in the head twice. First, they make no parts. Second, the deter other aftermarket companies from producing parts.

I always thought Honda had a close relationship with Comptech, I know the Acura dealer in ST. Louis was selling Teg's with whatever Comptech parts you wanted already on it from them, without voiding ANY part of the warranty.

Yeah but Honda doesn't own Comptech or Mugen. They just have a working relationship with them. TRD is part of Toyota. Problem is that it's not that hard to find owners willing to help R&D. The only problem with that is you don't get R&D time to develope and test engine internals, and other time consuming parts. Toyota is kicking themselves in the ass with this. They would rather risk loosing buyers of cars than give sales on TRD performance parts. The thing is TRD has most of thier products outsourced to other manufacturers. TRD is maily engineering and design. You would think this would help us and the aftermarket with info on the cars. I remember hearing Toyota wouldn't allow TRD to develope an ECU upgrade for our cars.

new celica is not popular in jp, coz the previous celica is too powerful the GT4..
i went to japanese book store, and i walked to the car section...
out of 20 magazines, i found one article about celica.. *sigh*
