Ok may 3-5 is out. Also may 18-21 is spring carlisle. http://www.carsatcarlisle.com/Spring/spring.htm And Memorial day is the weekend after that....How about something sooner... like april 27th? I say we have it in New Jersey. The Garden State Plaza which is in bergen county at the juncture of Route 17 and Route 4. It's about 10 minutes away from the George Washington Bridge. (I'll give more info if people are interested) It sounds like most of the people are in this area or a little further south. So unless anyone has a better idea, let me know. I'll think of some other areas close that we could go to if we get kicked out of the mall.

Actually picnic or no picnic, there is a small zoo / park right around the corner from the mall. Van Saun Park Zoo. Big parking lots, plenty of areas for picnics, bbq grills, animals and everything. Plus being public property, no worry about getting kicked out.

Spread the word, let's see how many people are interested.

I'm gonna call the park tomorrow and get all the info. What we can have and can't, and if I need to request a permit for a large gathering and whatnot. Either way this place should be perfect, there are always huge groups of people there for picnics. Just pray for excellent weather.

I don't think alcohol should be a problem in a public picnic/bbq area as long as it's under control, but they might have a problem if there are underage people there, I didn't think about that. I'll get all the info...and i'll be careful to phrase my questions carefully...

Got 2 more celi and RSX confirms today....still nothing from WRX's, I'm gonna go post crazy on i-club tonight, so that should get the word out.

I drove through the park today to scope it out. I saw signs that say no alcohol, so there's the answer to that. There are bars nearby.

How about this? Everyone chip in $5 or so, and we put someone in charge of food? Otherwise, I think that a lot of people are going to either forget, or NOT bring the stuff they are supposed to. For about 30-35 people, $150-$175 should cover the expenses.

I hope to attend, but it's looking doubtful.

I think the only way we're gonna have some food is if we have one person in charge, have everyone who is a definite to go paypal $5, and that person, the morning of the meet, go out and buy like 30 burger patties, 60 hotdogs, chips, dip, sauces, ice, and soda. Otherwise, we're gonna have a ton of soda and chips, but no hotdogs or burgers.

I just found out today that I need to request a permit since we have more than 25 people. I got the application, and I'll be going down to the office tomorrow to submit it. $15 picnic area charge and a $35 cleanup security. No big deal.

How does this sound, if people want, they can either bring something, or paypal me some money, and i'll bring something for them.

I'm gonna send out an email about who's bringing what once I get the permit in my hand.

Keep praying for good weather. The reports are looking better and better. If it rains we'll figure something out... we can either take a poll on when to reschedule, or I'll refund peoples money if that doesn't work or something...but really looks like it's gonna be cloudy at worst.

Yes we will have a grill. I found a friend with a nice 22 inch weber that I can borrow.

GTS LAID... Maximas99 also wanted to bring chicken...you can both bring it...i'm sure it won't go to waste. Don't bring a crazy amount though..if you each bring like 2 pounds (10 pieces or so) each, that should be perfect. I think you might want to precook the chicken a bit, then just basically heat it up on the grill. It might be tough to fully cook the chicken on a charcoal grill.

so far i got $10 via paypal, and $45 of people giving me money at the meet. with that money I plan on getting burgers/cheese/hot dogs/buns/rolls/misc salads/dessert stuff/ketchup/mustard/brownies/salsa/charcoal/ice and whatever else I can think of. If anyone else wants to bring something, that's pretty much what we need.

Slight update. We will be in lot 6, not lot 4.

I just got my hands on the permit, and they put us in the second choice picnic area I had selected (H, it's to the right of lot 6)....not sure why. Doesn't make much of a difference though, i'm sure people will be able to find us. You pass this lot first as you enter the park. Plus it's closer to the bathrooms.
