Last Wednesday in Carolina speedway here in PR . I saw 2 Matrix 1 was stock and was running 15.8-15.6 the whole night and the other had exh and 15" wheels up front running 15.3-15.2 in the 1/4. A 2002 GTS was running 15.9-15.8 very dissapointing indeed!
MAtrix is not that slow like mag says....

Interesting indeed! Where they awd or fwd versions? I can see the traction of awd giving it an advantage in ET simply due to much better grip.

Wow...that is impressive. Guess the 200 lbs doesn't make too much of a difference.
I'd assume it's the XRS version, with the GTS engine. AWD would be nice, but it only has 130 hp pumping thru it.

123HP and 2945lbs, only automatic, that thing would be lucky if it got an 18sec 1/4 time.
That Matrix time is very impressive. Geez, they are already doing as good as most RSX-S's. They are about the same size, although the RSX might be taller :chuckles:

the 2002 GTS is capable of running those times too. i bet EzRidA could do it. it's all about the 60' :D
i knew from the beginning the matrix is capable of hitting low 15s. it's not much heavier than a '00 Civic Si coupe, and it has more horsepower. if a guy like larry, billybrun, icyjaws, ezrida, mirconrice were driving the XRS, it would be into 14s with CAI and some weight removed.
and maelfyn would probably have a ball as it has a ton of **** and more seats to take out :D
weight makes a huge difference on our cars with no torque, but with the 2ZZ, if you keep it over 6000rpm and the gearing on the matrix seems perfect, that's still plenty of pull. and it seems easier to drive the matrix to the max (shifting-wise at least).

My bad...I thought the awd version had the 180hp engine too.
