Well, I'm very happy with Toyota today. After calling them this morning to make an appointment to get my minor things fixed, they said they could do it today. I've got 34k now and was running out of time. I went up there at 9:30 and dropped it off. They shuttled me to the Mall of Ga and I watched a movie and walked around until 2:00. I saw 40 days and 40 nights. It was pretty good. Anyway, they picked me up at 2 and my Celi was all done, no questions. New Belt tensioner (#2), lubed up my shifter linkage (2nd time) and pulled my passenger door panel and added "sound deadening material" to get it to stop buzzing all the time. (2nd time for that too) By the way if you havent had them lube your shifter linkage (hehe, that sounds pretty bad), I highly recommend it because it is soooo much smoother and quicker. This was all at Mall of GA Toyota.

Then I drove to the body shop of Atl Toyota and had them look at my front bumper again. They agreed that the paint sucked and I have an appointment for the 8th to get it repainted again. (2nd time). I also picked up some touch up paint and went over all the spots on my hood when I got home. So, not too bad of a day. All in all, I'm out about 20 bucks for the movie and touch up paint and my baby is good as new again. Or it will be shortly anyway.

They told me that you had been there today Cody but I didn't see your car. They were prolly out "Test Driving It" :) You hear anything back yet?

Later, Jamie

I'm telling you, it sounds so much better. I've had my base turned down to keep the buzzing down. Now there is no buzzing at all. I'm really happy with how everything went.

hey, thats kinda funny, i think i saw your car up there today jamie. i guess i didnt see you though, but i was up there around the same time. i was walking aroudn in the service dept. and saw a carbon blue GTS with the hood open and the passanger door panel off and noticed it had an injen short ram. i also saw it didnt have a kit but did have the TRD style wing (at first i thought it might have been an action pkg. one). too bad i missed you up there. glad everything went well with your car though, i'm hoping mine will. they still dont really know whats up and also told me they might have to put a new (probably 2002) transmission in there. i hope not...

Haha, yeah that had to have been mine. They said that you had been there after they took me to the mall. They also said that you were going to be painting your plastics?? Engine maybe? Interior? Hmmm, what'cha got up your sleeve?
I thought that the peeps that got the 02' tranny were saying that it was easier to keep it in lift....Am I wrong on that one? Really, no matter which way they fix it, at least your not out any money. I'm sure you'd get used to the 02' tranny in no time if that's what happens.
Have they ever given you grief about your mods? They musta been playin with my R. Indiglos cause when I pulled into the garage they were all set wrong. Good luck man.

im just getting the bottom half of my interior plastics painted, the area around the A/C controls all the way down to the shifter. rox is getting her kit/interior/engine/wing painted tomorrow so the guy said he'd do mine for free if i brought it in at the same time. and yea, it is nice getting everything done for free by them. i dont think they've messed with any of my stuff either, i doubt theyll be able to get my gauges to work at all cuz theyre kinda picky sometimes.

Rox must be really changing her car around.
I thought she already had a kit and that aluminum wing.

Any news on your new hood. I still want to buy your hoodscoop next week (after Fri) if the timing is right for you. Does your new hood come with it's own cf scoop?

yea, she already does have a kit and an aluminum wing but is getting the sideskirts repainted (cuz they dont match) and the front re-done because it has some chipped spots in it when she hit something. we also thought it would be cool to get the center part of the wing painted to match the car so thats going in tomorrow too and then duncan's making CF sides for it. and yea, we're still waiting on the hoods, hopefully they'll be in by the end of this week or early next week. it does come with a larger CF scoop too.

Aahhh, cool. I'm jealous. Seems that everyones cars here in the SE are really looking sweet with wheels, kits, sterios, etc...and then there's me. Haha, I need to divert some money from the Camaro project to the Celi. Yall are leaving me way behind in the coolness category. Well, once I get my springs and hoodscoop, I'll be a little more noticable. :)
Seriously, if mine were fixed up like I wanted, I'd have wheels, kaminari, CAI, exaust, and a small system. Anyone got about 3g's I can have? :)

Do you think they could get that buzzing out of me car, It seems that when ever their is just the littlest bass (relitivly speeking) that my whole car buzzes especially the hatch cover, :monkey:
Maybe it has something to do with the system, Ok in all reality I think this summer I am going to have my whole car Dynamatted it will be expensive but worth it.

haha, yeah. I think your system might have a little to do with it. I think if you could afford to dynomat behind each panel it would sound a whole lot better. It would sure be expensive though. I'm thinking about getting a single amped 10" bazooka for mine. I don't really care about getting a killer system but I would like a little more base. Actually I have a ported MTX box with 2 12's in it but it takes up the whole hatch and is very heavy. I got a good deal on it but never had it installed. Anyone want to buy it? The speakers need to be replaced. One is ripped.

DON'T GET A BAZOOKA, That was my first system I ever had, I sounded like crap yes it did give a little extra bass but not enough that you could really tell, The problem with Bazooka's is that they can't handle enough power to get good sounding low's when the high's hit it does sound good but the Lows don't carry, If you don't want to much bass and are concerned about space I recommend getting one or to 8"inch subs in a compact box, I know JL has 8's that require doesn't require a large box, The can fit into boxes smaller than truck boxes, and they still sound great not overwelming bass but good clear sounding bass.

Thanks for the info Mark. I didn't realize that they were a waste of $$. I'd use what I have but the box is really big. What do you think of one JL 10" in a small box? And what amp would be good?

me and rox are supposed to go talk to one of my friend's friends about getting a custom box or 2 built to go in the side of the trunk area where there would still be plenty of space left to store crap. i'll let you know what we find out when we talk to him. also, i'm supposively halfway sponsored by some small new stereo shop near me (haha), they told me they'd put in my old system (just 2 alpine 10's and an alpine v12 amp) for free if i'd slap their sticker in my car. i might do that but i still wanna get the custom boxes done so i think i'll check on those prices first.

That's more like what I'd be interested in. Not only wouldn't I want it to take up the whole trunk but I really don't want all that weight either. LMK, thanks

Know you are thinking Jamie, Personally you can't go wrong with A JL10, I have two and they are much more than I wanted but it's too late now plus I have now become a bass freak and require that much bass, I have sub control on my H/U and I normally have it all the way down so 1 JL10 would be good, you will want a "JL 10W-0 They are the bottom line JL but with JL you don't have to worry about that, to give you an idea of what the next model up from that is 1 JL 10W-3 is the equivalent to 2 JL10W-0's which is what I have so I think that 1 10 by JL would be great, Last time I checked they were running 99 each not a bad price

For an Amp I like Alpine V-12's but they are expensive also the JL amps which are way to pricy, you only need about a 2 - 300 watt amp, if all you are running is a 10 so you could probably get a Sony eXplod which is what both of my amps are and they are great, I don't know much about their new product line but you just want a 300 Watt 2 channel amp that can be bridge Monotone, I believe that would be the best way to go, If you want I gotta Guy at HiFi buys in Alpharetta and the one at comberland mall that I can but you in contact with and either of them can probably put you in the right direction.

Thanks Mark.
It'll probably be a while before I do anything though. I'll get in touch with you when I'm ready. :)
