so was down in Hillside NJ, seeing my girlfriend. when out to get a coffee yesterday morning. as i was turning into the parking lot, a chevy truck thought it might be a good idea to hit me....... this is what i got.

so i thought.....no big deal, insurance will cover this, besides he hit me so it's his fault.....not in NJ. Seeing that i had to come across traffic to turn into the parking lot, and though i was already a lane and a half (had my front end in the parking lot already) it's my fault....or so the cop said to me. Now i know here in MA it goes by % of who's at fault. seeing i was already 3/4 of the way across trafic and this guy hit my back end, he should be at fault. But i learned in NJ no matter what oncoming trafic has right of way. Guess i'll find out what's going to happen in the next few days. It doesn't look like they can pull that dent....and i see the rear panel is all one piece hooked into the door, doesn't look like a cheap fix to me.

I had the same accident in a parking lot. Cept I was parked and they hit me. Yours is worse than mine though because yours is further back. Mine was right before the wheelwell. Same size, and same side. Damn.
In NY its the same thing, %'s at fault. And he did hit you towards the back of your car so I would imagine it would count for something. But I dunno how NJ works with that crap. Good luck bro. Your pics bring back a lot of bad memories.
Oh and they were able to pull mine out. That's not a part the insurance company will pay for willingly. It's a HUGE piece and very costly at that. It will never be 100% though, not unless they buy a new part. It will be 99% back to normal once they fix it. Thats what sucks about accidents. The car is never the same. :(

i never looked at how big the back panel was before. lucky i know a "shady type" auto body guy. plan right now is to say "he hit my rim as well as the body and cracked the axle" he's going to re-paint the whole car for me in the color i wanted, audi gunmetal gray  and if not he's just going to get a whole new piece for me. I can for-see the nightmare it will be to take the panel piece off.

I know a girl in mass who hit the ass end of her car as she was going through an intersection. They found it to be her fault. So it's a gamble.

Good luck to your "shady guy" once the insurance guy goes to see the damage..usually on anything big like a broken axel, etc. an inspector will go down and say what he will pay for....

well got her back today, looks incredable. they repainted the whole side of the car, so all matches perfect. i'll have pics up later today. only thing now, the driver side doesn't look as new other.
