As im sure all you turbo owners out there know, we have traction problems. I spin my tires all the way through 3rd gear sometimes. So what have some of you done to help get more traction for everyday driving ( which means im not talking about slicks ). I have 19s, 275 thick, and still have no traction. So lets through out some ideas!

The question is what TYPE of tires do you have? I use Yokohama A032Rs on my Alltrac and I can't break them loose even with an 8000 rpm clutch dump at 8psi. (it just smokes the clutch). They are VERY sticky tires.

Other things that you can do is stiffen your rear suspension and learn some slightly better throttle control.

i have toyo proxies ZR4 Traction A, a rear sway bar and a front strut bar, camber kit and GC Coilovers.

Camber kit - how much camber are you running on your front tires? You want it to be closer to 0 for best traction. Also how much pressure are you running. Sway bars don't mean **** for traction. Are the GC coilovers adjustable dampening? if so what are they set at?

The tires are OK - but you should consider a better compound like the RA1s if you want to stay Toyo. Otherwise the A032Rs are great and less expensive than the RA1s (about $200 / tire as compared to $300+)

not sure the camber im running and im pretty sure the only thing adjustable on the GC is the height. Yea, i hate Toyo, look nice, grab nice on dry ground, suck in any water though. The only reason i still have them is because they were so expensive. I'll def consider changing the brand of tire i have next time

try getting a LSD, but other than that i think boosted covered it all. I know the LSD does a good job, as when I take off from the line, i do get some wheel spin, but im moving foward at a better rate than the same car with the same power without the lsd. This was proved when Gas and I went out to do some testing.

well - you need to get something with stiff dampening on the back and minimize front camber and the traction should improve.

I have the 17" Toyo Proxes T1S and have absolutely no problems other than if you launch hard...which is something I don't do on the street anyway's (on the track I use BF-Goodrich DR's).

How fast are you driving on the street to slip in 3rd gear????

I didn't reccomend the LSD because he has a stock tranny - LSD + turbo + stock tranny could = breakage. But yeah, of course LSD would help a lot.

yea, i don't want the LSD because i don't have the money to buy a new tranny at the moment. If anything i'd buy the c2power gears and lsd, but thats a tad bit more than im planning to spend at this moment.

I'm not driving that fast at all and im still slipping. Im never even pushing the turbo most of the time because it's not tuned properly yet, just has the modified base map in it. I have the T3/T04B turbo in, if that makes a difference from your car.

The mods to the car are the turbo kit with a t3/t04B, ported and polished manifold and downpipe, AEM alternator pulley, ground cables, and a custom 3 inch exhaust/midpipe down from the manifold back to a Apexi N1 turbo muffler. I should have what? like230 WHP, since the kit is rated at 217WHP with a T3, non p/p manifold downpipe and exhaust?Could that extra HP be making me slip this much? I got a ton of wheel hop too, but i don't want to get the hardened mounts either yet because once again i don't want to blow the tranny so quick

yeah but my car is better tuned and even prior turbo when I had the 75 shot I did not have these problems...you just hate my love for trees :)

here's a dumb question to you JCelica132...I'm asking this because I've been there....lol:

Have you checked if your tires are on facing the right direction? Since Toyo's are directional tires (right/left). That could explain it right there.

my cat is on too, it's hi flow, but i don't think that makes a diff. I had a straight pipe, but got pulled over, so i put one on.

LoL, yes, they are on right. I have taken my tires off so many times i can prob close my eyes and touch the tire and tell which side it needs to go on. I should prob check the inflation.
