I traded in my 1997 Eclipse GS in february 2001 for this Celica GTS. My old Eclipse had an Apexi N1 and it was pretty loud. My HKS exaust on the Celica is way too quiet. I thought about getting a kazuma exaust, But I really don't like tip. My friend at Griffin Motorwerk says I'm better off cutting out the factor silencer behind the cat or cutting out the HKS mid-muffler. Has anyone done either of these mods?

Yes it is very quiet at first. This made me mad too when I first got it(back when it was over $600) Believe it or not you have to break it in. What I mean by that is eventually it will get louder. Mine is very deep but I would not call it loud. the Kazuma exhaust is horrible sounding IMO. you could hear that thing from 5 city blocks away. way too loud. If you want to make your HKS Hiper louder now I would suggest gutting it. The rear section and exhaust can as well. Machine shops will do it for you for no more than a $100 or so. I don't have any idea what the sound quality will be, but it will be much louder. Look into it.
