anyone know if this is possible?

does anyone know if i can hook up an amp and subs to a stock gt radio? i have the components from my old car but i dont want to buy a new reciever right now... is it possible and how would i do it? or am i just wasting my time and i should wait to get a new reciever with amp outputs?

You can do it, but you will be dissapointed. You'd have to take the 4 speaker outs of the stock GT radio and run them to the speaker level ins on your amp (assuming your amp has speaker level ins, if it doesn't you need to go out and get some high to low level converters). This, however, usually doesn't sound very good. If I were you I'd save up some cash and get a real hu with front, rear and sub pre outs. Heck, I got my hu off ebay.... it has a full set of 5v pre outs and it only set me back $160.
