My opinion is that all the aftermarket parts are close enough to each other, that it doesn't matter what you get. The AEM CAI is better in the higher RPMs and the Injen CAI is better in the lower RPMs. (or was it the either way around?) The exhaust differences are sound. It depends on if you want it deeper or screeching.

The TRD gives a great sound without being too loud. I've only have tried the Injen CAI, and I'm very happy with it. Especially with the optional splash guard.

Well, there's not too many parts available for the GT or GT-S to make them accelerate harder, yet. You can get a intake and a exhaust, and that's about it, unless you're willing to risk nitrous use.

No header (inline four cylinder engines don't need more than one) is available for the GT-S, although HotShot (http://www.hotshot.com/) makes one for the GT.

I don't think any available chips do anything for the GT-S or GT, although if the A'PEXi Power FC ever becomes available for the US spec GT-S, I'd consider buying it (although it requires considerable tuning and is more expensive than just a "chip", since it completely replaces the stock computer).

As for the best intake and exhaust, I don't have one of either, so I don' t think I can give a educated answer. But my current thinking is to get a AEM Cold Air Intake and a custom-piped bolt-on muffler next spring.

u know what.....since we dont have an aftermarket, buy both the injen and aem..... then get all the springs, and all the exhausts available..... and u've pretty much exhausted the aftermarket...welcome to the land of the celica: the grossly underrated toyoter banger

Injen CAI, Tanabe RM exhaust, and Super AFC (w/dyno tuning) netted me 173 hp at the wheels, or about 200 bhp. Not bad for just and intake/exhaust upgrade. It won't make your car SIGNIFICANTLY faster, but it's a good place to start, and unfortunately, the only place to start (and finish) really, without spending the big bucks on the XS turbo. The Injen and AEM CAIs both work really well, and you'd be happy with either. The Injen offers slightly more top end pull. My opinion is just to go with whichever has the more attractive price. As far as exhausts, I like mine, but look around and settle on what spikes your interest most. :)

The other night me and my friend were in a 98 bmw 328i 5 spd....and we got stopped at a red light and a gts w/ exhaust only and and indiglo dash pulled up...we raced and he he pretty much would have killed us if he didnt have to stop for a car...The Bmw is an inline 6 w/ i belive 193 hp..so id say celis are pretty fast...I was thinking maybe getting this set up...
Borla Cat Back- Aem CAI-Pulleys AEM- and A JET chip...ARE the Jet chips any good for 300?...I think this would be a very fast car w/ that since i cant get headers...what do you guy s think..give me some suggestions~
THanks
