I'm thinking about actively seeking for some sponsorship in exchange for some performance parts. I race at a local raceway, and we

Put together a portfolio on the car and yourself. Have pictures and details of your success as a racer. Unless the prospective sponsor is into racing you need to present a value proposition to him. I.e. what is he getting for his money. The demographics of the people who race or attend the races and how it relates to his product. Good luck.
