Ok guys I have been waiting so long on some type of turbo or forced induction I can't wait any longer. I am going to go with a fully built engine and then go with a direct port n2o system. What I am asking of you guys is to help me out finding which type of system and what type of internals would be the best for this project. I want this thread to be helpfull to all of those out there who are wondering what it will take to build a built engine that can withstand at least a 75-100 shot and still be drivable everday. First off lets talk internals.
Pistons: what brand, domed, dished, flat????
Connecting Rods: what brand, forged????
Valves: what brand, titanium????
Valve Springs: what brand????
Valve Spring Retainers????
Ok so I don't know which brand would be the best quality but that for you guys to help out with hehe. Then after the bottom end is built should I go ahead and Port and Polish? I guess lets move on to the nitrous itself.
Direct Port kit for EFI: NOS, ZEX, JG, Nitrous Express????
Shot: 50, 75, 100 what could it relatively handle well????
I know this thread is asking for alot from you guys but I figure it might be answering alot of questions for other out there to. I would like to be provided with websites and links for all the viable companies out there that can help with this buildup. And if anyone knows how much it will cost for these individual items that would help immensley. Thanks guys.

I am in the process of building up my engine to handle lots of Nitrous.
I got...
pistons
rods
crank
clutch
valve springs
spring retainers
flywheel
direct port manifold
most parts are from here (http://www.monkeywrenchracing.com/)

I met you before at the Shell on Clay about 5 weeks ago...I was the passenger in the Silver Celica with the ghost TRD sticker.
hey kareem did you buy a direct port manifold? tell me if you still want me to hold it for you

you guys are aware that by building the engine and lowering the compression to run more nitrous when you arent on the nitrous your cars are gonna be dog slow right?

I believe they are just running everything new and forged..... guys correct me if I'm wrong here.

i c.. not lower compression pistons.. just forged..

IMO, its really not worth it just nitrous. I mean thats a lot of $$$. To me, nitrous is just cheap/easy/quick boost. I dont plan on running it forever.
W/ all that work/$$$, why not spend a little more and get turbo?

new, and forged...same numbers as to not mess with the computer settings...
In reponce to the turbo...i have found no one in houston that knows how or has the know how that i would trust.

Here's a more realistic list that wont cause any power loss. Cromally rings, Stainless valves..Thats all youll really need to run lots of nitrous. I guess sence your replacing the rings, you might as well get some forged pistons..I would go with the exact specs as the old pistons because they way the stock pistons are designed are awsome for preventing detination... I actually broke a piston ring on the bottle..it was after a mis-shift rebuild, so Im willing to be if I didnt break it on the bottle, it would have gone eventually.
My 2 Cents...

heres a dumb question: what are connecting rods?
Do connecting rods follow the oval shapings of the cam shaft which in turn moves the connecting rods in a "up and down motion?

It connects the piston to the rod bearing which is connected to the crankshaft.

with all those internals you could probably run a 100-125 shot. that would be good for nearly 300whp on 6-speed cuz you still have the 11.5:1 compression giving you more bang for the buck. enough power to dip into the 11s if you had perfect traction.
i might go this route myself. a lot less strain on motor, and a lot stronger motor.
be sure to also get oil cooler, tranny cooler, run something like synthetic racing oil, synthetic tranny fluid, and a very tough clutch and colder plugs. also time to start retarding timing, and get the car tuned with an AFC.

almost forgot...might want to see about getting an LSD, real racing slicks (not DRs, at least not for the track), and maybe about toughening up your axle somehow. you will be leaping off the line with almost more torque at the wheels in first gear than a McLaren F1.

the thing about running the high shots of nitrous is what you said, retard timing...how can we retard the timing on our cars? it is all electronic...

where do you get the valves?
