I'm looking for a good resource that has info about these (That's not in Japanese). You'd figure, given the extreme performance differences between the American and Japanese varieties, that there would be a huge market for this sort of thing.

What do you mean by "celica's in Japan"? Do you mean factory Celica's, fully modded Celica's, or something else?

In either case, there are no extreme performance differences between the two. Celica's in Japan only make 10 more hp than US Celica's, and that is mainly do to differences in emmision standards. There aren't any super crazy fast Celica's in Japan right now. If anything, there may be a few in Japan driving around with the Blitz supercharger kit, which will be available in the US shortley.

In fact, I believe that the worlds fast Celica is in Puerto Rico, not Japan.

Here's a good site that is a collectors page of JDM Celicas...

I wasn't really sure about the Celica.

So does anyone know how much hp gain you'll get with a blitz supercharger?

Awwww, its Pikachu, how cute:wave:

HisFrogness-
Stock GTS celica's put down around 160hp to the wheels. The Blitz SC puts down 240hp to the wheels. There are some pretty decent threads about it on this website in the forced induction page.

Oldster-
The Celica in Puerto Rico that I am talking about is not a street car. It is a full out drag car owned by a drag racing team. It has been converted to RWD and has an engine transplant(although I forget what engine they went with), but it is all done on a modified 7th gen Celica chassis. A member from Puerto Rico posted a vid of it at the track and it was very impressive. The post had a surprising lack of interest and I havn't heard of the car since then. Maybe the person who posted it will read this and re-post the vid.

chameleon, I think it didn't have much interest because it did not use an actual 7th gen celica engine. It's nice that it's bringing the celica some needed attention, but in the end its not a celica without a celica engine.

Man I must have missed that, would really like to see it if anyone remembers who and when it was here. Thanks.

You might want to try a search. It was a back halved, RWD sporting a 2JZGTE motor. Puertoricoracing.com or puertoricostreetracing.com or something like that. I can't remember which exactly.
