exhaust question

anyone's exhaust shake at idle or around 2000 rpms? my exhaust isnt rattling like there is a hole it sounds like its bouncing off of my body kit. anyone have any ideas?

Right now i have the same problem. My exhaust is loose and thats whats causing mine to rattle when i'm at idle or downshifting it starts to rattle off my bumper what i'm doing is getting a new exhaust system since the one i have is still stock I don't know if you are in the same boat. All i can say is climb under there and see if anything thing is loose or broken at all.

What part of the exhaust system is the sound coming from? It could also be a bad cat, since they tend to fall apart and the broken parts rattle inside the housing.

...i kinda have a rattle prob. too....rite when its hits 3000rpms..i hear a rattle coming from the pass. rear, right behind the speaker r close to it.........is it cause i got a kazuma and its too loud r something else????

Try tightening your heatshields. Other than that, jack the car up and examine the exhaust piping and chassis for any scrape marks or dents, which would indicate contact between the two.

thats the thing though it doesnt sound like the cat. i used to drive an 86 caddy i know all about what a falling apart exhaust sounds like. this is more of a banging. i havnt had a chance to look under the rear yet. hopefully this weekend. could the hangers have gone bad? or maybe broken? its just that is sooo annoying esp. in parking lots.

Well with mine I have a muffler on my stock exhaust because i have a body kit. A couple weeks ago I hit a pot hole and knock the muffler loose on the hanger, plus the hanger looks like it started to rust a little which i don't think is helping any. So like i said it wouldn't hurt climbing up under there to see whats going on.

My exhaust burns my bumper recently, it suks. Gotta take it to a muffler shop and see what they can do.

no its not custom just an hks exhaust. its not burning the bumper it just sounds like its hitting somthing under the car.
