View Full Version : Sensor
Hi there, kind of new to the performance part of things. Anyways, I was wondering if there was a way to bypass that sensor after the catalytic converter and before the resonator? I want to see if I can fit a straight pipe down there with just an Invidia catback exhaust.
Also, what brand of headers are proven to be the best? So far I hear HotShot is pretty good...that's about it.
Thanks for any replies!

a. I'd never run my car with no cat, being as you'll never pass emisions, and in most states, its just not worth it, wayy too loud and just not practical...
b. what is it, a gt or gts? let's do so reasearch here before we ask such broad, unspecific questions...look at what happened to cryo slash for his incomeptent posts, no one could take him seriously or answer any of his questions, you may have better luck, but only if you address us as the knowledgeable resources we are (well, not my self, but many of the people here, who know more about cars than the people who build them)
best of luck

Sorry for the broad question. I have asked a local professional muffler shop to see what they can do about it. Unfortunately, they're not too sure how to bypass the sensor. I believe it's an O2 sensor, but I'm not sure. BTW, I already addressed myself as a newbie in this field so at least I'm admitting my inexperience. I know some, but not all.
I have a friend who has removed the cat and has a straight pipe from his sport header, to resonator, to muffler in his 96 Probe. He's had no problem with emission laws, but he has had trouble with the loudness...only because he has dual exhaust. Anyhow, I'm not even sure if I am going to do this, I just want to see if it's possible on a Celica.
I understand your concern Sky, but I just want to see if it could be possible. If not, then forget it I'll just run bigger piping in between everything.
And Immo, your link doesn't work.
