Ok, i've had this Walbro 255 lph fuel pump installed a couple of weeks now and as some of you know I had some problems with it. Eventually I resolved the problem by changing relays.

Now, I also changed my stock filter with the filter that came with it. The shape of it is different then stock. Stock has a L shape, walbro filter is a square.

I noticed my car wasn't starting immediatly and my fuel pump was very loud as well. So, a couple of days ago I was running low on fuel and I was pushing it but I felt the car choked and then eventually kept driving again. It felt like I was hitting the rev limiter, but I was at 3500rpm.

So, I think the problem with the new fuel pump is that if I push it, so much torque is created, that all my fuel end up at the back of the car. Making the fuel not being sucked in by fuel pump.
The location of the fuel filter was supposed to be in the opposite direction(facing the rear part of car, so no matter how much torque you make... you will always have fuel). Now with the new location it's facing the front of the car, it's possible that if you push it and create alot of torque the fuel will not be sucked in by the fuel pump.

To solve somewhat of the problems, I decided to get a new stock fuel filter at my toyo dealer for 8 bucks. I installed it just now and my car starts immediatly again and the noise is gone. Sounds like stock now.

When i'm running low on fuel again, I will push my car and see if this L shape the stock filter has, actually helps sucking in fuel.

If not, then people who are planning to buy an aftermarket fuel pump should buy a fuel pump that directly fits and has the filter faced the same way as stock. I've read on the MWR site that the PE 165lph is a drop in fuel pump and doesn't need any modifications. Most likely this will be the best fuel pump you can buy to avoid any hickups while pushing it on low fuel(1 cel left) on high boosted cars that created lots of torque, causing your car not to get fuel.

I'm not sure if Immo or G7celica experienced this, but I don't think C2Power stage 1 owners will have to worry about the problems I had.

That's it, I will let you guys know if I have any problems or get any problems now with my new filter.

Bing, one way around this would be to purchase the MWR 255 lph fuel pump. It is exactly like stock in configuration, although you do have to cut your plastics a teeny bit because of its increased side. It's also not much louder than stock - really not even noticeable.

Well, from what i've learned is that the MWR 255lph fuel pump is the Walbro 255lph for the Supra. This is the exact same pump I use right now.

My tank was almost empty today. I pushed it and I could feel it bogging again.

My advice to everyone who's upgrading fuel pump and expects alot of torque(I have around 240lb-ft torque): Get one which drops in without modification and make sure the filter will be placed exactly like stock.

Oh well, I would have to stop pushing my car when i'm almost out of gas.... this is definatly not good for my car. :ugh:

Bing, do you have the problem on 8 psi too?
We both felt my 6psi on stock pulled harder than your 8psi on low compression pistons and I have no problem at all.

No, I didn't feel it at low boost. I will have to wait another week to be able to test it because I just refilled today.

Anyways, my car was extremely rich the day we installed the bigger fuel pump. I retuned my map and it pulls hard now again.
