Sometimes when I'm shifting fast going to redline from say 2nd to third, my foot is quicker than my hand so that the clutch is released a fraction of a second before I push into 3rd so all of a sudden the rpm shoots up close to or past redline in neutral.

Has this happened to any of you and does it have the somwhat similar results as misshifting gears?

When you take it to a shop, alot of mechanics after they are done installing, rev up the enging at standstill. is it ok to rev it up 7-8k? I noticed that smoke came out at 6k!
I have a GTS by the way

no i dont think its bad for the car cuz to keep the rpms up on the car and so the car doesnt have to work as hard keeping the revs high shifting is ok but i'm excatly sure i do it when i race and my friend who went to trd racing school does it too

I dont think its particularly bad for the engine, though running an engine without any load on it for extended periods of time is bad.
