they (Toyota USA) lowered the fuel cutoff on the '02 GT-S supposedly to help reduce misshifts. However, now it is literally impossible to stay in the second cam profile during the 1-2 shift.

There is a very good chance that this is the dumbest crap i have ever heard, and im sorry im a little jumpy, but damn, if you can not land in lift in 2nd, learn how to drive all over again, i ALWAYS land in lift in 2nd, 3rd, and usually 4th(feather the gas a bit) I mean come on peeps, if ya cant drive the car like it was designed to, at least dont race it, make the rest of our cars look bad!! And yess i have a 2002 gts 6 speed/

:stupid:
there is a very good chance that you are the dumbest person on this board. first of all, if you always land in lift in 2nd, you are feathering the clutch so much that i give you 3 more months before you need a new clutch and syncros. second, why would you have to feather the clutch for 4th gear? thats the first gear that your '02 will land in lift without any feathering of the clutch.
thirdly, it really wasnt designed to be beaten to sh!t, your are the dumba$$ who make the rest of us look bad.
next time think before typing away and making yourself look stupid.

I'm with CAMmed. I can land my '00 in lift no problem. I was relating the problems I have heard countless '02 owners complain about on this board. So a search for it. There's a letter writing campaign, etc b!tching about this limiter and not being able to land in lift because of it.

Im just telling you buddy, i have no problem landing in lift, and no i dont feather the clutch to ****, or at all for that matter, its all a matter of knowing your car and knowing how to shift quick and hit the gas at the right time, and you are right, i wasnt thinkin when i wrote that i feather it to land in lift in 4th, my bad...I make our car look bad?? well the mustang i beat a couple a weeks ago didnt think so, the 99 souped up z24 that i killed thought the celi was fast.... the 99 prelude thought my ride was quick...beat him. And many other victims that i gained respect for the celi by beating thought my ride was dope too! If you dont know how to really drive a stick good, by the fing auto, and go for looks instead of go.

I have a 00 GT-S 6-spd and I can't get lift in 2nd. I redline 1st and do the fastest shift I can but it takes me down to 53 to 56 hundred. What am I doing wrong?

And what EXACTLY is feathering the clutch? (if you don't want Celis to look bad you'd better explain this to me...hehe)

here's what you do, rev up to about 8200 rpms(past redline) and then shift as fast as you can but before letting out the clutch floor the gas and let off the clutch slowly instead of just dumping it or just removing your foot as fast as you can. thats the way you will stay in lift, the guys with the '02 models have to let out the clutch even slower to stay in lift because they cant rev to 82-8300 rpms. it is mathematically impossible to land in lift in 2nd gear by just shifting as fast as you can even when shifting at 8300 rpms and not feathering(letting off slowly) the clutch. if anyone tells you they can, they are full of sh!t especially with the '02 models which dont rev as high. doing this is hard on your clutch, syncros, and tranny in general. id say do it only if your racing someone, or until you get it down but dont do it all the time. good luck and be carefull.
