This is bull$h!t!!! I can't take it anymore!!! I've had my belt tensioner replaced three times. Two of the tensioners were the TSB units! The last one i had replaced took place 4 days ago. It started raining here today. I take the car out and guess what? The F*****G thing started to squeak AGAIN!!! WHAT CAN I DO? I have 35,600 or so miles on the car. I've even gone as far as to call the regional manager Joanne Johnson. I asked if she could give a permanant fix it warranty on the tensioner. She told me that she couldn't predict the future and neither can I. She wouldn't offer any type of help on this at all. What else can i do? If any of you out there can help please post something. If i can't get this resolved soon, i may have to go and trade for a Honda or something...man...i am going crazy...aren't I?:ugh:

are you sure they replaced it and didn't just spray belt dressing on it?

yup. i've been to the dealership so many times, that i've gotten to know the service manager Don. He pretty much lets me go anywhere i want in the building, including the service garage. I actually watched the mechanic (Kenny, i know him now also) replace the tensioner right in front of me.

Getting my belt tensioner replaced was the best thing I ever did, it got rid of all the noises, mine wasn't a squeak though it was more of a rumble noise coming from the engine. Good luck with it, hope they get it all fixed up right.

Thanx! BTW, the first time my tensioner went bad, for lack of better words, it was rumbling also. It took about 10,000-12,000 miles between tensioner replacements to start squeaking or rumbling. Exept for the last one they put on. It took all of 60-80 miles for it to start this crap all over again.

Silver,

The tensioner SOMETIMES fixes the problem. However, if it doesn't the BELT also needs to be replaced ALONG with the tensioner. It's on the TSB I posted up. ALso, and I've asked my dealer this before. Since you have had this problem before the 36,000 mi., and you have the paper to prove it, you can still have it covered under warranty, b/c it just means the dealer never fixed it. Well, ask your dealer and make sure you get that in writing or if not, you'd have to trust them. Good luck!
